Curriculum Vitae of Mr. Farukh Amil
The Ambassador joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1984.
He has graduated from the University of Manchester (BSc Honours); PCL/University of Westminster (MSc.) and the Fletcher School (MALD in Law and Diplomacy)
where he also completed the PhD Comprehensive Examinations. The Ambassador also undertook the National Security War Course at the National Defence University, Islamabad.
He has held various assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad: Cairo, Ankara,
Washington (Political Counsellor) and Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in New York (Ambassador/Deputy Permanent Representative, 2006-2009).
At the Foreign Ministry he has served on various posts and as an Additional Secretary, Foreign Affairs at the Presidency.
More recently, he served as Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan from December 2012 to April 2017.
Presently Pakistan's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International
Organizations in Geneva from 17 April 2017.
